Tata Curvv – Design, Interior & Dimensions
Tata has designed very unique car which they have named as Curvv, this car will be a coupe SUV. At the Bharat Mobility Show, Tata showcased an almost production-ready version of the coupe SUV.
Design
Tata Curvv will come with coupe-SUV design. The front comes with LED DRLs similar to the Tata Nexon facelift. The EV Curvv doesn’t come with a grille, while the ICE version gets a chequered grille design. Both concepts come with a sharp design language with lots of cuts and creases. At the rear, we get to see inverted L-shaped LED taillamps running through the entire width of the tailgate.
Interior
Tata has made dashboard simple with floating infotainment system in the middle, Other interior features include a two-spoke steering wheel and digital instrument cluster. On the steering wheel, we have media controls and an illuminated Tata logo like the newly launched Nexon. Other features on the Curvv include a panoramic sunroof and a powered tailgate.
Other notable features expected to be included are powered ORVMs, push-button start, wireless smartphone charging, 10.25-inch touchscreen unit, ADAS suite, touch controls for the AC functions, rotary dial for the drive modes, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and a new gear lever.
Specifications
Tata hasn’t revealed the specifications of the Curvv. Just speculating, the Curvv EV is expected to come with a 50kWh or 60kWh battery pack. Powering it could be the new gen-2 motor that debuted with the new Nexon. What power figures it will produce on the Curvv is still anyone’s guess. There is more clarity regarding the petrol/diesel specifications. Tata recently confirmed that the Curvv will come with the 1.5-litre diesel that also powers the Nexon. Petrol options are yet to be confirmed, but we could see a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit could also come with a CNG option.
Probably this will be the specification for ICE variants.
The former will be a 125PS/225Nm 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which is likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The diesel engine with a 115PS/260Nm 1.5-litre unit, which will only be available with a 6-speed manual.
The EV version of Curvv is expected to get both single- and dual-motor setups. The former will get a front-wheel drive layout while the latter will get an all-wheel drive configuration. In either, range will be around 400-500 km on a single charge.
Dimension
The Curvv measures 4,308mm in length, is 1,810mm wide, and 1,630mm high, with a wheelbase that is 2,560mm long. It also has a 422-litre boot space. The Curvv EV is also expected to get a frunk.
Expected Price
Curvv ICE could be priced similarly to its other C-SUV rivals. So, we can expect the price to start from Rs 12 lakh and go to Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). While the EV version could be priced from Rs 18 lakh or Rs 19 lakh to not overlap with the Nexon EV. The higher variants could go up to Rs 26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
Launch Date
Tata has confirmed their EV and ICE Curvv Launch date in their investors meeting. They have planned to launch its EV version between July and September of this year and they have planned to launch ICE version after 3 to 4 months after the launch of EV version.
Tata Curvv Rivals
Tata Curvv will compete with C segment SUV’s. That is with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Tata Nexon.
This car will be also known as Indian Lamborgini Urus as its shape is almost similar to Urus.
